DESIGNER MUSIC LTD / DML

Designer Music is delighted to announce that further to the creation of our first record label DML we have gone into in partnership with Grammy-winning engineer and producer Mark Rogers. Mark worked for Decca, EMI Abbey Road Studios and Warner Music before turning freelance in 2004. Designer Music and Mark have already had a successful collaboration with artist Simon James on the album of Spanish Guitar music Azahar (2007) released through Barking Green Records. We have just finished in time for Christmas the CD A Star For Christmas with funds provided by Stage For Age and including readings from Sylvia Syms and Jenny Seagrove and a wonderful performance of O Holy Night sung by Nicky Spence and accompanied by Simon James on guitar.

Designer Music is pleased to announce the creation of a new record label DML. The initial objective of DML has been to digitally release back catalogue from Designer Music starting with Simon James first album Daybreak originally recorded in 1983 but incorporating John Tavener’s only piece for solo guitar Chant commissioned by Simon for his 1985 Wigmore Hall debut and recorded live on that occasion. The intention is however to include new recording projects as soon as possible.
