Love and Lust are not always easily distinguished from each other particularly by those most intimately involved. Whilst we do not claim to be any wiser than those who have not yet decided which of the two conditions they are involved with we have gathered some observations by others which may offer illumination if not enlightenment.
' Thank you for the flowers you sent ' she said,
As she shyly blushed and bent her head.
' I'm sorry for the things I said last night.
I was wrong and you were right, forgive me. '
And so I did.
And as we strolled through moonlit hours I asked myself
' What bloody flowers? ' (anon)

When I loved you, I can't but allow
I had many an exquisite minute;
But the scorn that I feel for you now
Hath even more luxury in it!

Thus, whether we're on or we're off,
Some witchery seems to await you;
To love you is pleasant enough,
But oh! 'tis delicious to hate you! (Thomas Moore)
